Today I got a Pica Dry automatic pencil and some leads

had a use of one a few days ago and thought I've got a get one of them. The coloured leads might be canny for marking steel I'm gonna give em a try if there good I'll get another to keep for the garage
then this morning I was doing a little job on a industrial est when the guy next door asked for a few wood screws I got this in return


a 300mm long piece of press brake tooling it's 75 x 75mm and weighs 11kg ! It was a one man eng/fab/ machine shop . There's another 5 pieces there ,I asked why he'd cut it up and he says he tried to sell it whole with no takers so he'd do pieces or the scrap bin post would be canny at 11kg . What would they worth though or would 150 lengths be better. I'm off to look at making a press now

Cut them to 50mm widths and sell them in pairs as drill V blocks ?

No powered hacksaw here I'm afraid otherwise I might have thought about it , I suppose I could ask him what he wanted to cut one up into 1 x 100 and 4 x 50

That would make a nice tool for my mini brake but I fear the cost of it plus post would be more than I would pay, especially as I use it so infrequently.

I could ask what he's wanting for each 300mm piece and go from there wouldn't be till monday though I'm away tomorrow . What would the postage be on 11kg plus a bit ?

I doubt it would be more than £20 postage for that, maybe less if not going to the outlying parts of the UK.
