Tried to look up the origin of the word. OED needs a login, and I couldn't be ar3d finding a library card, but Dictionary.com seems to think it comes from virioka "small bracelet", which at least is logical
That could well happen to a German in Holland during the first 10-20 years after the war, that the waiter forced this through his teeth in his own language, assuming that the German didn't understand him ...

Got all manner of bench grinders / sanders but not a belt jobbie to put edges on things & sharpen. Don't have need or space for a real one.
just put some edges on things and first sharpen of a few knives, cleaned up some bits and I'm happy with it.
It's pretty quiet and mostly made of metal, I've taken the backplate off so I can lean on the belt a bit better, with the top guard off get about 150mm of belt face

looked around for a while for an older/used one of a smaller footprint. Nothing - please don't post now a sale iv'e missedI've got a similar, older, but possibly better quality being made of metal, machine. I used it for knife handles.

Mine had an upstand from the table, but that's not useful. I removed it: the slack belt works well.
Ceramic belts are good.
The disc sander is a pile of pooh, especially if the discs are self-adhesive. An abrasive of last resort If you do need it, consider converting it to velcro.
I have a similar one too, mine is scheppach BTS700. Very handy thing to have!

Your spot cutters are piloted counterbores, for making an accurate counterbores to fit a socket cap bolt head into.
