Today I acquired - another MG9!
This one is a bit sorry looking on the outside and doesn't come with the pile of accessories my own one has but under the dirt and bad paintwork it's a nice machine, it has less wear than my own one and it all moves nice and smoothly. I only wanted it for the motor and 3 point steady but now I have it I think I'm going to give it the treatment and might even end up keeping it and selling the other. We'll see how it goes. These things are very compact and very hard to come by. Big thanks to @Dcal for coming and helping me to drag it up from the shed at the bottom of the garden to get it out.
I also picked u[ a bunch of smaller tooling and bits and bobs, including a gallon bottle of layout blue.
By the way, this lady has for sale a complete Alexander Master Toolmaker milling machine. It has most of whatever accessories that should come with it. Normal milling head, high speed head, slotting head, horizontal arbor, 3-way tilting table, indexing table with over-arm. She wants about £2k for it and although I didn't get time to look it right over it seemed in fair nick. I didn't get any photos of it but I could get some off her if anyone wanted them. For those who don't know, this is a copy of the Deckel FP1 just like my TOS mill.

I've bought a few things lately, but this is the most noteable; an injector puller for the 2-litre diesel Fords. Had a set of 4 to do at work, all seized. This pulled them all out easily with no issues and no damage.

Every time I pick up my no5 I have a bit of a chuckle. Couple of years back SWMBO wanted a new spike/tube/ socket thingymabob bludgeoned into the lawn for a new clothes line she had bought. I said I would bring a 4 pound hammer home from work to do it,in a couple of weeks as it was mid summer, the ground was rock hard, and we needed to wait until the ground was softer, following rain. Seeing we had a perfectly serviceable clothes line at the time, I thought this reasonable. Couple of weeks later she asks if I can make a new bit to go into the ground. Asked why. Well, she didn’t want to wait, had tried, and failed,destroying the bit that was supposed to go in the ground. Asked her what she had bludgeoned it into the ground with. She said she was very sorry, she had destroyed my number 5 hammer,but not to get cross as she had bought me a new one to replace it. Still haven’t mustered the courage to tell her the heads are repaceable….
That made the washing line very expensive!
I once saw a No 5 for sale in the BOC welding shop, I felt faint when I saw the price!

Went to local shop and got a service kit for the above, I was expecting air filter, plug and fuel filter to be a lot more than £15
Also got a splitting maul. Didnt have a close look in the shop but now I see the handle might have the grain going the wrong way? !? Likely to snap I think.

Bought this little record from the scrap tinker the other day. Been too stressed over personal matters so forgot about it
Gave him a fiver . Shame as I sold a pallet of vices on here for FA and lost a days money sorting out the pallet, seller’s regret for sure as I was getting a bit of a collection!
