After a rare shopping trip on Friday where I looked at plenty of music (CDs & LPs) but ultimately decided not to indulge, I enjoyed a little splurge at Halfords today.
Trade card and discounts made this lot a shade over £32 which is fine by me and they'll get more use than the £30 LP I picked up then put back

Those 8 piece sets are excellent, mines had lots of use. After several years of ownership I was seriously abusing the No 2 pozi trying to drive a No 3 size, 8 inch long screw into to small hole in a fit of stubbornness rather than start again and broke one of the tines off. Took it back to halfords without receipt as it was a present and they changed it without a quibble.

Yesterday, really, this little pile from the autojumble at Gawsworth Hall.
A couple of swivel-head spanner / socket things. The 10mm will make it much easier to remove the bottom thermostat housing bolt on my daily driver, except I already had one. The other one is imperial, not sure I'll need it as I never have so far. The two die stocks are to replace the rubbish one that came in my tap and die set, which has 25mm diameter dies. The first on the left is marked 25mm / 1", the next one in looks much better but isn't marked and I couldn't tell if it was the same size (turns out that it is). These four items were a fiver, so I just had both die stocks. The two box spanners are to make a tool to undo the strut top nuts, again on my daily, and while I did think I'd measured those, it turns out the larger one is slightly too small, so I'll just use the short one.
The thing on the bottom right is intriguing for a quid. It appears to be a way to cut out large-ish circular holes, but I don't know whether it will cut steel or not - any advice on that (other than "try it and see") would be appreciated. If it cuts steel it'll be really useful.

Very recently acquired some budget hi-fi and got round to installed them in my study/playroom; a Wiim Pro Plus streamer and a Fosi ZA3amp - I've now settled on Tidal and my collection of CDs are boxed and in the loft for a while now.
For years I've been using a wee Denon mini system to drive the floor standing speakers but having listened to the same amp in a hi-fi store I thought I'd give one a go and for £142.49 I'm blown away; so much more grip and clarity - especially at lower volumes.
Currently listening to some Henryk Górecki and it is so much of an improvement for not a lot of expenditure.

In a local MIS there was a grumpy old man, he had a nice grand daughter.
He was grumpy as he had issues.
When he passed away a few weeks ago the local crematorium place has many spare seats, I was there.
His Grand daughter has given me his medals etc, I am going to make sure they go to a better place than my house.

Used this today Brad for the first time, seems like a very well built bit of kit, comes with a calibration certificate and a warranty, the push on connector which stays on until you want it released is very handy, I don’t have any doubts that it’ll last.
