A 3m 6 tonne lifting chain with a shortening link on the eye. £10
A heavy hammer, looks like a blacksmiths type. Probably overpaid at £6 but its a style I don't have & it feels nice in the hand.
A pair of 10" record stilsons, a bit of surface rust but good jaws, a steal at £3!
Really happy with the chain - an identical one made £27 at the previous auction - I dropped out at £20! Will use it with my engine hoist - more versatile than a strap & a lot lighter than my other chain which is more suited to pulling tractors!
A mate I worked with reckoned the German graveyards were full of graves with the epitaph "but it was my right of way"I had forgotten jaywalking is illegal in Germany. Seriously though, massive clear road, masses of time. When the green man shows they just walk out without looking! I personally consider that more dangerous.
As ever Rowan is fascinated by the tools.
I foresee lots of 'nipped' small fingers in your future.

The only way to learn.
An example. 6yo was messing with the above vice trying to clamp a piece of paper. Only problem he had his fingers in the jaws at the time.Yup. I still nip fingers and I've been working for years.
Thankfully he's tough. Takes a big fall gets up and tries again with no fuss. Won't let my 6yo use tools. He's cackhanded and has the attention span of a mayfly.
