A box each of 2 & 2.5mm rods from Lidl, plus one of the angled welding magnets. Got the rods so that I can practice with cheap rods rather than my good ones. If I can eventually get a decent weld with those, I should be okay. I hope.

I bought a box of the 2mm just because it's the only size I don't have. Will be useful on the rare occasion I need to weld thin steel & I can't use the mig.

Yes I would be interested in a set.

Shaft diameter is 20mm, max axil length is 70mm. But I need to consider a fixing method.

Lidl visit and found the Magnet bin full came away with 4 triangles and 2 of them doubles, Jeez there strong nearly lost a tooth prying one off my bench

I know it's not top draw but it'll do me nicely for what i want..

Decided today was the day to have a run up the local scrap yard to get shot of some items I've had kicking about for a few years.
Told the chap i needed to have a wander and maybe offset what he owed me against some more items to take home and fill up the garage again
It's been a good few years since i visited a scappy and still can't believe what firms scrap !!
So what i acquired today..............
My main item on the list was some thick plate for a welding bench and got me a nice 10mm sheet which was lovingly lowered into the trailer and i topped off with some box, solid round and flat steel.
I really need to visit more often

Which scrappy do you use? I'm in Northants too the one by me is OK but doesn't keep too much back.

sever car crash driver still in car, cars on fire someone yanking on drivers door asked driver im with if they had a bar in car no

stopped vehicle close enough run like hell to help, others and i drag the driver out through the passenger side door no choice

its a standared rd but most of time people do drive fast on it
tonight someone got caught car coming towards us fully smashed in nothing left of front end on wrong side of rd near kerb car going fully spun facing towards other kerb on fire nothing left of front end

fires out and i went to shop then had an arigant police officer telling me i cant go to shop then home he soon got told what id just done and know fully whats going on

he kinda didnt like it got told not to shout yeah right get your facts right

Oh @The_Yellow_Ardvark you would be proud of me, I rescued this broken thing from a ditch. It’s cracked, a bit is missing but something tells me it’ll make a lovely plant pot.

Today I acquired, a cardboard box.

Inside were some nice clean rags for the workshop

And someone seems to have left a rusty old piece of cast iron in the box too!

It's only a baby, and I paid too much for it (perhaps) but, thanks to @Screwdriver, I've had a craving for one for ages. Yes, we'd all like something larger but, for the size of my workshop, it is perfect. The pipe jaws look as though they've never seen action and the flat jaws are barely used. All in all I'm very happy. Now I just need to dig out all of the other vices that this forum has made me buy and find them good homes Watch this space...

Two new bearings for my cement mixer and one oil seal, total turned out to be 70 euros. I paid 100 euros for this old lump several years ago, now I am 170 euros deep into this. Don't think I am going to get what I have put into back. But I think it should have another 30-40 years in it now. Not sure how old it is, but made in finland and with a 3ph motor. Probably ran it two years on broken bearings...

A pair of 2kw ceiling-mounted heat lamps. They put out a phenomenal amount of heat - uncomfortably hot from anything less than 3 feet away. Sets fire to blue paper towel held 6" away in about 8 seconds.

A new to me, "Wobble box" and a car. Both classic, even vintage. Both dated from 1974.
The "Wobble box" is sadly in white, a bit faded, but intact and original.

The car is a typical 1970's box. But does come with a Garage to keep it in.
