This weeks was a pain in the, ask no questions.
Working away, back home, away, but today I was under hundred miles from home. So local.
The site I was has closed down and I was removing our equipment.
But I was allowed to "Liberate" some bits.
George 111 Horse feed rack. The food was dropped down from the top.
This was the best one, as it was still in situ. The other 4 were in the skip and damaged. To badly damaged to be saved.
Pallet truck. It does work, but stiff to move.
I have asked a friend if he wants it, watch this space.

Didn't even have to dive in the skip! Colleague clearing out a store cupboard knew I'd like it 
That's the original packing slip in the box, a clue to how much use it's had - when did Moore and Wright switch from beautiful colour case-hardening to plain black?
And a few days earlier, some useful 10mm plate...
Welding practice, and possibly a frame for a 2" x 72" belt sander?

I've already got one, 10mm stainless top about 1200 x 1200mm... Lucky it's stainless as the Garage of Danger is a bit cramped and it has to live outside

Had a bit of a mixer disaster when I was putting the shed floor down when the mixer seized, but all better now as I've scrounged an electric one off Freecycle. No stand, but its a Belle like my old one so I'll use that. Its an old one so there's loads more metal in it, could be a bit of a scort to get it up on the stand...

Have one like that. Stand differs from the newer ones a bit iirc. Big heavy lump but far better than there newer offerings.

i've had about 75l + 2kgs powder in a blue plastic barrel since summer, pickling various bits + pieces (a couple of big! vices, a load of horse shoes+a fair amount of small hand tools).
it seems to be losing its efficacy - no bubbles when putting new stuff in, but it *is* winter - stuff is still coming out de-rusted.

Last week some unpleasant person nicked our rotivator from the vegetable plot that is about a kilometre out of the village ...it's a secluded place and I stupidly thought it was OK to leave it there tucked under an olive tree with a bit of plastic tied over it ...its about 12 years old and cost 1200 euros ...so I was miffed . I thought that kind of thing just did not happen here...However a friend of mine rang me up yesterday and he has one that was his dads and I can have it. It is old ,...so I have a project ...the tank was left full of fuel and it turned it to soup and the carb is thick with goo like varnish... I took the tank and the carb off and cleaned them out ...the tank tap had seized up I've got it soaking overnite ...I cleaned up the plug and turned the engine over and got a spark ...so I think it's gonna be ok...it not as powerful or robust a machine as the one that got stolen but for free ...thank you Evaggelos Garefalakis....

About 90 minutes work and a pressure wash had this Pallet truck working nicely.
Some one had let the oil out of the pump mechanism. I had to spend £6:75 on a bottle of oil. Ok I did spend it in a local shop.
It has now been sold on to a friend of a friend who has some stables and the bales of saw dust arrive on pallets.

I have mentioned in the past a local charity shop which I visit will make up box's of stuff they can not easily sell.
The box's are normally household box's, garden, DIY or pot luck.
I tend to take a punt on DIY or garden. If I don't like the contents I let the shop have it back and let them sell on again. Yes, they keep my money.
Today I "risked it for a biscuit" and went for a "pot luck" box.
£5:00. Was the suggested price. I gave double.
It rattled and was unbalanced.
Camping Gaz Hose and regulator. @Parm Yes you do recognise it. But it was no use to us both. I donated it to the shop.
Hose lock Nozzle and hose pipe connector
Ratchet bit holder.
Paint brushes
9 D shackles and a wire tensioner.
Not bad.
But wait. There is more.
Mrs TYA likes the fact I donate, but not the "Dam clutter"
2 double 13amp metal wall sockets, junk pile already.
Head torch, rechargeable batteries and it works too boot.
2 Tape measures, I keep one, the other is down in MIS.
Timer Plug adapter.

Edit - in the thread about clamps - Thanks to who it was for mentioning Rutlands
I've dug the boxford headstock out of the scrap, and bought an xy cross slide. I'm thinking a frame from a bit of rsj, swivel base for the cross slide. Not sure how to do height adjustability or holding the tooling yet. Collet chuck sounds an expensive way, but I can't see much choice.
A pic or two would be good, when you get a moment.
