Another thing is i've an interest in some older bikes & rebuild some engines, when an engine is in the frame most nuts are no problem to loosen or slacken BUT when out it's a bit more tricky. The tool i have for the subject title would also come in useful for undoing a clutch hub nut or the generator retainer nut on the crankshaft
Good point. On the nut that's on the bike i can see by the markings an impact socket has been used to take the wheel off AND put it onOnly iff its been put on to 170 ft/lbs

Yep and ime sure a 50L air tank will to with any cheap 1/2" rattle gun...the 1st nano second moves the nut so air volume has no bearing whatsoever only pressure does.
Thank you!! Seems good that but are the values realistic? Thats probably better that what my compressor can drive in a comparitive air tool, though with my luck it'll last twice!!
So will my 50L crappy compressor drive an air tool with enough grunt to do the job? I kinda fancy building up my air tools & will probably upgrade the compressor in due course

Thats probably better that what my compressor can drive in a comparitive air tool, though with my luck it'll last twice!!
I have not met a nut that this has not opened or snapped! where the air gun has failed this has not been beaten yet for the money it is great

Matt, I appreciate how easy this may seem in your head & appreciate the advice but i'd rather have a tool that will do the job than a £13K Ducati on the floor. My thoughts are that if i need the wheel off then it can be a 1 man job, when refitting i can torque it up to what i can without knocking the bike over then get help, my wife isn't always around when i am & a 3 & 6 year old probably aren't going to be much use at it.
Yes, granted on track days you may not see any windy guns but pretty much anyone is willing to lend a hand out being a common interest, i know because i used to do them, only sold my bike at the start of this year
Well I'm sat on an £14K S100rr in my Avatar pic and never had a problem with loosening and tightening the 210ftlb rear spindle nut by hand on multiple occasions.
I wouldn't dream of doing it with anything other than a standard torque wrench.
Nice bike, couldn't make it out. Nearly went for the BM, in fact i also looked at an Aprillia RSV4 Factory APRC but went 1199 Panigale for a change, never owned a Twin! To get the end can off i need to remove the rear wheel to get proper access to the rusted in bolts......looking forward to that bit

That's a mighty tight bolt torque spec for a twin sided swingarm! My ZX6R was somewhere around 90 ft/lbs. That was no probs on my own but the Ducati is near twice that & about 30kg lighter
Totally agree, i've a torque wrench to suit the tightening bit but i just want to make removing it a 1 person job
