Toolstation broom handle !!!

Ok guys anyone got a good source for decent quality broom handles ?!
The toolstation efforts just bend whist the broom head stays stationary
Such bad quality it was quite funny
Returned for a refund obviously .

I think the quality ones are made from ash treewood . It needs a thread btw
I need an old skool iron mongers not sure there s a lot left tho these days

Buy a broom that doesn't have a screw in handle and avoid this issue In the future.

I feel your pain Mike..those cheap handles are nothing more than jockys wipps....i buy mine from a local builders merchant and seem to be twice the width as the more common type.

Can you not just buy ash or hickory dowel? Beech dowel makes a nice handle too

Great lace, I’m planning to go to the one in South Moulton while I’m in Barnstaple.

We had the Country Wide Group in Towcester, was a proper farmers supply store. They went all commercial and horsey and closed a short while latter

Wrap it in carbon fibre tape.
(Go up at 45deg to the handle then back down at 90deg to the first layer)
Brush with epoxy 1st, then between layers, then over the top layer.
Wrap tightly with cling-film until cured.
Cover with clear adhesive heatshrink.

Good fix, but probably cheaper to replace the handle on a regular basis

Time is money.
Only do it once!

If my maths is correct you will only need a 5m roll of fabric. That's about a tenner.

Edit. My maths is probably wrong. I think it's 7.5m.

Well this is an engineering forum, so a good quality steel fabrication, with side braces and a hook to hang it up with, should be the stock answer to a problem like this?
