Torch positioning assistance..

If you're using a 17/18/26 torch, then a stubby gas lens kit helps a lot. Brings the head a lot closer to the work like a 9/20 style torch, but doesn't give up amp capacity like a 9 torch does.

I remember what teacher told us when I was in school:

This is my bench set up.

With just the tungsten on the scales i have to hold up 0.18kg of torch.

I sat and watched a western woman in the Chinese buffet eating with a knife and fork the other night. She spent an age carefully following her childhood programmed instructions on how to eat properly, trying to scoop fried rice, noodles, fish etc. onto the back of her fork. I reckon she spent a couple of minutes or more of balancing and adjusting and shoving and trimming with her knife, to get the fork loaded, then carefully headed it towards her mouth…… then a stray noodle flopped in the direction of her chin….……
…..so the fork went back down, readjusted the load, and finally made it to her mouth.


It was all I could do not to say something, but I was too busy shovelling food in my gob, using the well proven Asian spoon and fork sensible method.

The secret is, bowl against your chin and shovel... works for me, every time!

There's people who really enjoy that sort of thing, takes a lot of skill and a sturdy hardpoint to do it safely.
So I'm told...

There's ladies in Central London that would charge a great deal of money for such things, so I'm told.
