Still not finished it lol. The wheel arch is done, and its waterproof. The hardest innermost sill is done. Just finishing off the middle sill. Its a bit of a bodge, but its a £700 car. All 1mm replaced with 1.2mm, seam sealer on the seams, weld through primer used. Ill also seam weld the sill edges when all are plug welded together to make sure no water gets in. For the first time, i enjoyed myself doing it today. Never having had a welder i didnt realise the shroud and extension cord were giving were causing problems. Now ive sorted both its a lot easier.

ADVICE Dont weld with the extension wrapped UP!! Most common extensions are not big enough section cable for running a mig off, you really need 2.5 cable min.

I knocked my own up in the end, 5m 16amp cable. I only have the 135te, and im on the lowest setting, so its more than enough. The first one was crap, very long, and thin.

On the home straight now, its been a good way to learn to weld, 99% of the work was preparation. Ill ask a mod to rename the thread in case any other welding noob with a yaris needs ideas. Thank you to everyone on this site is been my number 1 resource.
