Thats a beta 4 manual reverse, If you don't intend to use the brakes take the shoes and mechanism off, the springs are pretty rusty and I've known them to break resulting in a locked wheel, also bear in mind the age of those shoes, they will probably contain asbestos so be careful not to breath in the dust from the drums,
The other problems you have are with the hitch, the autolock head springs are either rusted or broken, you can tell by the gap in the coupling head, that could be fixed with 3 new springs and a bit of work. failure of these springs is what causes the car and trailer to part company on the road
The other problem is with the over run hitch, you need to prevent the drawshaft from moving in the hitch body, I've previously done this by removing the rubber gaiter, and using a short length of tube split down the length into 2 half tubes fit it round the drawshaft and tack it back together. this will still allow the shaft to swivel but prevent movement on overrun.
A better idea altogether though would be to replace the hitch with a modern unbraked unit
I'm checking ebay everyday to see if a second hand trailer hitch comes up, I do want to keep the brakes, but it depends on if i can get a secondhand hitch.
I did notice the gap, but i wasn't sure if it was suppose to be there.
