It's crap.
Its more than likely base camp for lads that have never had a torch in there hands...get the feel of positions then go and light one up and run a bead.Yes had a go on the Lincoln vertex.
Never should it replace learning to weld in any way, but they're pushing it like mad. Bad enough the welders coming through let alone ones that have never touched a real torch!
A lot of welders/fabricators are out of their comfort zone when they cant roll the workpiece about on a bench.Currently got a young apprentice with me at work and told him to forget everything he learned about workshop welding as site work is totally different, then I make him think and he decides wether to stick or MIG and I make him do it and even he said site welding is much harder and going back into the shop for a stint will be much easier by comparison.
Solution: get then to think first, then pick up the equipment and get some practical hours on the torch.
But they saw it on youtube,so it has to be easyA lot of welders/fabricators are out of their comfort zone when they cant roll the workpiece about on a bench.

Hope he doesn’t set his tie on fire when he tries real welding.
Joking aside, I really do like this gear,
must save a lot of hassle prepping test pieces etc. to get a feel for the processes.
