When I was about 12 or 13 the bloke called Joe, on the next farm to us, had a series 1 Land Rover. Another local farmer mentioned in conversation "Joe drives with a slack reign" I wasn't sure what he meant by this until I needed to ride in joe's Landy. Our farms were down a single track, no through road and Joe was wandering onto the grass first at one side then t'other. As there was a 10 ft drop into the river at one side and dry stone walls at the other, this made for an "interesting" ride. I was thinking he was taking this being an off road vehicle, a bit too literally. When we got home I waited while he got out and tried the steering wheel, there was a good 3/4 turn before anything happened

Well, it’s already got an adjustable box, so that staying where it is. I was actually advised what size MCs to use, but they weren’t in stock at the time so I went up a size...... thinking it can’t make much difference......
I was trying to keep it at the most simple of everything when I built it, servos and proportional valves just add more complexity.

I’ve just fitted smaller MCs to try to improve the brakes, and bleeding them was the same chore as last time.My vacuum bleeder seems to suck air in around the outside of the bleed nipple thread. So, I got technicole and produced a gadget to load the pedal up. It’s a monkey wrench with my 3 jaw chuck clamping on the handle, and hooked over the brake pedal.
It works brilliantly.
I just bleed a bit out, lift it up to fill the MCs, then bleed a bit more out.

Someone suggested grease once, but I tried that today and the brake fluid just washed it away.Put a bit of PTFE tape on the bleed nipple threads...stops air getting drawn in
PTFE tape sounds like a winner though.

So pleased to see this t still around....It’s been on the road before, fully registered on a Q plate, but i’ve had it torn into a gazillion pieces and reworked so much... built my own brake system, fitted a different steering box... reworked suspension.... the worry is that something will fail or fall apart...... maybe I’ll die in a burning fireball......on the way to MOT.
I did all the copper bits, and stuff like that, inspired by @selectedgrub

I owned this very tee in the late 80s/early 90s in the leicester area.
Had a lot of fun with it running 1600 ford gear.
I made a weather cover for it too....

I bought it off of Kev Rooney, and then sold it back to him several years later, after I’d rebuilt it and got MOT etc. He then took off just about everything cosmetic I had done and put his own mark on it, then he sold it again. It’s definitely been around, but is still out there and being driven. Which is a good thing.
I wish I had kept it, but then I’ve said that about every car I ever sold….

I Know a fair but about this tee, as i said in an earlier post , i owned it in the 80s/90s.
Its a jago chassis....i contacted jago when i bought it and they told me where to look for the chassis number.
Once located , they told me that particular chassis was manufactured in 1974 and sold to a customer in northern ireland.
The project never got built, and was sold to a guy in leeds called reg, who built it in a fashion, registeted it, ran it a bit and blew the engine.
I bought it in 1987 with no engine or box, and it was suffering a bit having been left outside.
I trailered it to leicestershire and spent three months in the workshop at work getting it roadworthy again, with escort 1600 running gear.
I made a hood for it too.
I sold it in 1993 to some poser boy for a lot of money .....
Who wrecked it again within a year.
Then i lost track of it.
Ill dig the puctures out asap and put them on here so you can see what it looked like.....times were a bit different in them days though!!!!!!

Perhaps i should add.....
When i bought it, i had the intention of rover v8 running gear.
After confirming the chassis number, jago technical advised that if the chassis was still as it was when it left the factory, no way was it capable of v8 runing gear withour major modification and strengthening!!!!
Hence why i put ford 1600 running gear on it

It had the Essex 3 litre in when I bought it, Kev fitted that, the chassis looked fairly ‘stock’, with no extra stiffening or structure. I added a couple of gussets to the front spring perch, as it was just flat welded to the crossmember.
The front axle seemed somewhat puny, and would flex when I turned the wheel at standstill, but I was assured it was more than strong enough for the job.
When I was sorting out the body I found some writing on the inside of the shell, something about Ireland.
I never drove it more than a few hundred miles. Shame really, as I spent a fortune on it over the time I was its keeper.
With regards to your bias pedal box...
I made 1 for my project a while back, was an absolute nightmare the more I looked into it...
I ended up with a 0.75 and a 0.625 cylinder with just over a 6:1 pedal ratio...
It's not quite as easy as that though as a lot depends also on what's pinching the discs front and rear... if its a "bitsa" car that will also add some head scratching...
