Their use of chains is goddam scary.

Very low skill set most of them.

I think they use what they have got in front of them , I’ve worked in remote places and you have to do what you’ve got to do to get stuff done. Unfortunately there’s a tv crew there broadcasting it to the world

They must just look for the dumbest looking ‘welders, miners, machine operatives and ask if they want to be on TV

Only problem is it inspires its loyal TV followers especially my dad and brother when I weld in our family scrap yard I hear almost daily it doesn't have to look pretty it's just got to hold. Doesn't always work that way pops and I weld as properly as I can with the junk they give me

There is no way it is anywhere near free ad's. If you watch all of these programs they blur anything that isn't paid for, people even have tape over clothing brand logos.

If you watch Alaska Last Frontier you'll see that the only people who seem to have paid are Carhartt, their logo shows up dozens of times in every episode, it is probably the most common clothing bran up there but it is the only one you see in the show. They even blur the logo on some vehicles. I think Dewalt shows up too.

Do they call this "product placement" ? - like 007 watches....

it's all scripted. i know a few lads that have worked for and work for companies that do a lot of work for tv companies. we watch these progarms thinking really how can people be that stupid, answer is there not but someone in the tv company wants to film a desaster so they make one.....
