When we got our wood burner installed it was 6 inches from the wall, this was with twin walled flue and standard plaster board. I challenged the guy about the gap as I thought it looked terrible. He said 6 inches is the gap required by the regulations. We lined the wall with fireboard and moved the burner closer, it’s now 3 inches off the wall. Would of had it closer but the rear outlet for a flue sticks out a fair bit. Our twin wall was £90 a section, 36 inches tall and 8 inches dia.
