Tyre inflator with an auto stop?

Hi all,
I'm in need of a tyre inflator for my compressor - looking to use it for motorcycle and car tyres so 50 psi ish max I think.

I've seen some recommendations For PCL gear on this forum but my question is - can you get any where you can just pop in a tyre pressure and it will fill to the level and the inflator will stop/cutoff? I can see some cheap Chinese 12v ones that promise that but none that will stick on a compressor - is there a reason why it doesn't exist or am I missing something?

RapidAir K3015 will do the job, @ about £200 they are a bit spendy though. Preset pressure regulator on line and a pcl inflator would do the same job for a lot less

Why do you actually need one ? I've never needed an autostop tyre inflator in nearly 50 years of motoring. As much as I like gadgets myself this is one thing that wouldn't be on my desire list.

Can't you just use a regulator ?? Just turn it down to the pressure you want??

I too find myself in need of a tyre inflator, the cheapie Clarke one didn't survive being run over yesterday. I would welcome suggestions, doesn't have to be a PCL just half decent quality and reasonably harmless to the wallet.

Anything less than a pcl will eventually disappoint. I buy PCL and I am tighter than a tight thing, they last.

Why do you actually need one ? I've never needed an autostop tyre inflator in nearly 50 years of motoring. As much as I like gadgets myself this is one thing that wouldn't be on my desire list.

Would be great for efficiency at work as truck tyres can take a while to pump up, clip it on set it up and do something else, car tyres on the other hand pump up in the blink of an eye.

I got several MK3 inflators. They have lasted well...

Just bought myself one MK4 digital one (not so keen on this).

PCL ones with 360 swivel are OK - if they have some silicon grease/spray in them.

All three of the 12V compressors I had were autostop, after about 15mins running. I stopped buying them because they wouldn't restart.

I'm sure they're called shrader connectors.
Try some cable/telecoms merchants for connectors. As they're used on pressurised cables. There's loads of types of them, screw in hook on push on ect...

You also use them to fill metro suspensions with anti freeze. (and also rolls Royce apparently, I've never had the pleasure of working on a rolls Royce though)

I could understand the need if you were filling 50 tyres a day on a production line or something. But for filling / topping up one tyre now and again... I wouldn't bother with auto fills and shut offs.

I have a couple of Mk3 also. I've been tempted many times to buy the Mk4 digital, is there any specific you don't like about it?

Unless you are filling anything other than massive tyres I genuinely cannot see any need to for auto cutoff, I would say a motorcyle tyre will get to 50 psi in seconds on a compressor. Even a 19" Discovery tyre that's completely empty gets there really quickly. I literally changed hundreds of tyres on machine at home and never found inflating them to be an issue. For regular top stuff by the time you had clipped the connector on the first wheel you could have done 2 of them.

If your thoughts are to connect it and walk away then the best advice anyone can give is 100% do not do that.

Used to common back in the day with tractor PTO mounted pumps, someone starts the tractor leaves it pumping and forgets, a big tractor tyre goes with a pretty bang.

My lad just got one in a auction lot and I told him the best place for it is the scrap bin
