I have four Solex 44iP carbs that i want to clean up well and i hear that this Ultrasonic is the best way to go.
I see the cost is around £30 a carb to get them done, then i see you can buy a cleaner for £100 to £150.
I have picked a couple of random to show wnat i mean and was wondering fi they are good and do a proper job

You pays your money, etc. I would not want a really cheap one - that likely crosses off Vevor. Mine works OK - it has a heater circuit as well.
You don’t sand blast anything these days - sand is not a nice substance to be blasting around. Also, I think (well, actually ‘know’) you are a few magnitudes out on you frequency!

yep i did.
ok ill rephrase then, soda g;ass bead etc etc blast, i put it in all one group. maybe i should of said blast the blast buggers.
But there are no mugs in the photos to gauge size.@BikerBill web site has a clearance corner, usually machines returned because the buyer wanted a bigger tank, with 12 months warranty

Not really true.
Chemistry and heat play a part, but working ultrasonsics work impressively well - given you have chosen the right chemistry for the contamination you want to remove from the materials you have.
Given the right materials, contamination etc, even plain old water in an ultrasonic tank will work to a degree. You do have to have liquid in the parts where you want cleaning - air locks or parts out of the solutions, or shielded by baskets (you can get mesh baskets, if mesh size is just wrong, in-effect cancelling the "waves"), won't clean. Direct line of sight from working surface to the component gives the best effect of course.
Quick party-trick test to see if your ultrasonics are working at all - lower an opened bottle/container of a carbonated drink in the the solution in the working tank - within seconds you should an erupting fountain of de-grassing liquid from the bottle. There are more scientific tests available
One thing always mentioned to us - don't stick body parts in the working tank - that degassing liquid in the bottle? Same effect on the liquid in your fingers . . . and I know, some people have done it for years, with no effects . . . yet . . .
If that was a new price . . . then it's probably not got much power in the ultrasonic bits.

I've always wanted to own an ultrasonic cleaner but @BikerBill won't sell me one. He just says bring whatever you need cleaning around and he'll do it for me

The thing to bear in mind, is with carbs if you want to vapour/aqua blast, you will need to strip them right down. You cant have glass beads anywhere once finished. That impossible to achieve if still assembled.
With ultrasonic tank, you can just stick it fully assembled.
I did my webers in the aqua blaster. Rather pleased with them too

I just realised i can do all the copper cooling pipe work aswell on the engine. so get more monies worth out of one.
BUT, if the item does not fit in the tank/cage in one can the lid be left off while in use so do half at a time ?
still deciding on which to go for.

Mmmmm..... I've always stripped them down. Float chambers are often pretty mucky and whether you could clean and drain the muck from them as well with the whole carb fully assembled and immersed is a bit of an unknown. While an ultrasonic clean of a carb often does wonders, I've still had the odd one did not respond.

@bricol do you think these low cost home ultrasonic cleaners are powerful enough to have any significant effect? I do get a good result from mine sometimes, when I put in a greasy part it comes out clean. But when I put in my Weber carb I didn't really see any effect.Not really true.

I got one and tried it yesterday and today, not amazing but cleaned the carbs. What i found though the heating process is slow, i got the 10l tank digital version. I got it upto 40deg on a 70deg setting and even after removing 3 litres and boiling the fluid and adding it back to the tank at 40deg it only moved the temp up 5deg.
How do you find the heating as in time etc.
