IIRC there is a special paint made for dipping.
Powder coating is neat in that there isn't much over spray with the electrostatic attraction, and the fact that any
"overspray" can be vacuumed up and re-used.
However there it the prep (seen many failures of adhesion) and the heating oven cost's.
I recall seeing an electrostatic attachment for a spray gun (liquid paint), might be a good option.
