I suspect most are made in China now, I have been using a Superwinch with a Bowmotor upgrade for about the last 15 years. At least you get a friendly contact who can provide advice and spares.Re badged chinesium
That is really cheap, I paid almost £150 just for my synthetic rope, not sure what sort of warranty it comes with.This is the unit I've seen Here and it's only £252.
I'd be happy to spend a little more on a branded one so I can be confident it works still if I ever needed it but I can't find much out there for anything less than £500

Is the motor really drawing that current or is it the gearing making it a 6.5hp output?416 Amps. FFS, hope your charging system's up to it.
I'm starting to think about fitting a winch to my Landcruiser, not that I'm likely to need it for the off roading I do but it's best to have it rather than not have one when needed.
