Vevor Winch

I'm starting to think about fitting a winch to my Landcruiser, not that I'm likely to need it for the off roading I do but it's best to have it rather than not have one when needed.

Has anyone used Vevor winches before and are they any good?

They just look like Chinese generic clones

You should be able to find a warn or husky for less than that and will be able to buy spares for it off the shelf

A few lads in my Land Rover club have the same and goldfish ones as well as warrior winches

I’m after a husky x9 or warn xd9500. Really odd and old school tech but it’s for a replica I’m building

We have superwinches on our work trucks. They aren’t what they used to be. I would suggest getting a winch with a ballistic nylon rope rather than a wire rope. Much nicer to use

I suspect most are made in China now, I have been using a Superwinch with a Bowmotor upgrade for about the last 15 years. At least you get a friendly contact who can provide advice and spares.

I'd be happy to spend a little more on a branded one so I can be confident it works still if I ever needed it but I can't find much out there for anything less than £500

That is really cheap, I paid almost £150 just for my synthetic rope, not sure what sort of warranty it comes with.

Everything I’ve bought off there included shipping including a 10” chuck that was heavy

We pay that for the ropes for our quad winches, worth every penny though. More rope on the winch and no more metal bits stuck on your hands

Is the motor really drawing that current or is it the gearing making it a 6.5hp output?

I've fitted Winchmax products before and been impressed....that's why I purchased this one, earlier this year.

But budget for a 1000CCA battery as well, if you want use and not show....

The not using using it much is a winch killer, they do need running up from time to time.
