Oh yes, is what I did before but the pair of screws on the right I couldn't get out.
Had some advice from metal workers forum,
Threadlock
Used to be one could buy small pencil tip nozzles to creat pin point flame. Not sure if such a thing can be bought these days.
You only need 350-400 * F to break the bond ,try a electric heat gun .

Screws
I think the first thing is to put the other screws back in. Then try freeing the stuck ones. There is pressure against those threads which works to disadvantage. This being one of those deals where all the screws are backed out evenly and reassembled evenly.
I assume you have removed it from the wall? Impact driver you hit with a hammer is what you need, use it before you screw up the screw! As long as the screw head is above the surface cut a slot with small cut off wheel or hack saw.

I'd just cut your losses.
If you can't get the top off when it is, will you fare any better on the bench.
Get a regulator and try and remove the fittings if they break or don't come apart buy new ones.
What did you use thread lock or stud lock?

Pretty sure was Loctite thread lock. I'll have a go at putting all the screws in, and undo them an equal amount like someone suggested. If no luck I'll call it a day and do as you say.
Can you recommend any decent regulators similar to what I have, which are decent quality and a reasonable price.?Thanks for your help on this, appreciated.

I had another look at that square bar. I can turn anti-clockwise,as far at will turn before stopping, very loose can wiggle it around and lift it up a little . Turning clockwise it does right up getting tighter, then stops.
Monday will try pressurizing and thoroughly check to see if turning makes any difference to setting PSI. If not will have one last go at getting the top screws undone if can't will have to get a new regulator and fit.

Hi again,
Had another look just now. Set the compressor to feed in 90 psi. Turning regulator bar/knob anticlockwise, before it starts to go a little loose hits something and can't be turned anymore, the psi = 20, if turn knob clockwise a considerable amount the maximum pressure it will reach is 55 psi.
If I can the top off could the fault be rectified?

I would think there is something broken to stop the adjusting screw getting it's full range, but it has to be worth taking a couple of tight screw out even if it just to see what went wrong with it.
I'd be a bit more brutal with the screws, I don't think you have much to loose.
