Weather vane

Talking of church spires... Seville cathedral has a great vane. And they keep a spare in a corner of the nave. Changing it must be fun, as it is about 4mts tall and could weigh a bit. Nowadays a helio, but back then?

Just back on the original subject, took note of one on a church spire today. That one had letters mounted so that an anti-clockwise walking direction would be the correct reading position. All letters left hand side towards centre.

Is that anti-clockwise when viewed from above, or below?
