If you try and weld, use stainless filler , and let cool slowly. Two passes might help to anneal a bit.

Strip some braided sleeving out of some cable and slide it over the broken ends. Hold them together and pull it tight. Cover with heat shrink working the hot air from the centre out.

It's done I hit it with the mig was great until I decided one last hit and it was glowing doh. But it's back together and working how long for who knows we will see. If it snaps again I shall repair it the same way but with less heat
