Murex, what compressor did you use? I looked at HVLP guns for car bodywork and they all appear to consume a gazillion CFM of air. Even my 3hp compressor didn't appear to be up to the job, on paper. Mind you, with a 150-litre receiver it would probably manage a higher airflow for a minute or two at a time. Have I read this wrong and I could use a HVLP gun without problems?
I've never used HVLP but the claimed benefits are very attractive. Even on car bodywork, it's a pain in the rear having more paint around the garage than on the car, especially when painting smaller parts like bumpers. I can imagine it's a hundred times worse with something like gates and railings that are mostly empty space.
mines an old 3ph hydrovane with a 200ltr tank i think its about 23 cfm not sure but i had it from a tyre fitting place when they were closing down cant use a air mask as it has a little oil in the air line in line filters catch it but i wouldnt use it for a air mask
