I am having the same problem and came across this post.
I can't see how it is possible to drag a rod into a corner and back out again, keeping the angles correct.
Can anyone point me to a video on YouTube showing the correct technique?
Why ?Don't ever start in a corner as has been said, always try to run into then out of the corner, standard practice to avoid crater in the corner of the joint

As you weld toward and into where you previously started ie corner you burn out any bad bits as you link up. pause for a second and that takes care of the crater as you stop
You don’t start in a corner when your stick welding because the second you start your rod your creating slag and spatter and your rod is cold and the steel is probably cold and there’s a chance of arc blow that’s a pure recipey for a mess. When welding with stick your rod is warming up that first second when u long arc and away you go with a 6013, you don’t want to be doing
