welding mask recommendations

I've been using one of these day in day out for nearly 2 years now. I would recommend them in the £100 ish range. Good all rounder, heavy mig and stick to light TIG.

Slightly bigger viewing area and grind/ plasma mode.

Seems good to me, far better than my old 15 year old one. I can't compare it to a megabucks one as I haven't got access to one. I would like to try one though to see if it's worth the difference as I plan to be doing quite bit of welding soon.

I fitted a head torch on the front but may try the individual led mods as posted on here (can't find the thread).

I have 3 helmets an old auto darkening Sealey (10/11 shade) about 15 years old, Easb Origo 4 years old and a Speedglas 9100xx.

Surprisingly the old Sealey has better light detection than the Esab Origo for tig use, plus the external adjustment knob is a pain (imho), the Speedglas well that just the dogs...

You get what you for for....how much are your eyes worth???

I'm genuinely astonished at how much better the £180 Lincoln is compared to the £60 Parweld.

When i used to weld i started with a Optrel satellite which was good but the outer lenses where expensive and a pain to get hold of. I then went to a Miller elite and can honestly say that it was the best mask i ever used.

Top 3 for me are
Speedglas 9002x (older style)
Esab new tech (all the models are good)
Lincoln Viking 3350
These 3 come at a price mind but you won't go back. Look for 1.1.1 optical class and you won't regret the extra cost.
