yep, that hose has expanded a concerning amount. It WILL go with a bang, just a question of when.

If that hose is natural gas hose its only designed to carry around .5psi (~21mbar) sure it will handle more but not 100+ Psi for any time.

that is a dam shame because it was recycles and had the correct fittings on the end,

if it bursts i guess ill have to replace it

i cant see what way it went together but id imagine there is a ferrule under the outer part of it and in between is the hose.
you could nip it round behind the nut and split it, pull the hose off the ferrule and put your own one on.
it kind of looks like the outer part is also part of the flange and the whole lot could fall apart, but you wont be any worse off then you would be at that stage anyways so it might be worth the punt if your up to it.

the hose feels like it is a 2 ply because I can feel the outer and inner pars seperatly if that makes sense it does in my mind. I will wait until it goes bang then It will be a brown trouser moment I am sure!

sounds like the inner one has gone and all thats holding it is the outer one.
the other hose beside it seems ok but maybe its not under the same pressure, if it isnt swap them about.

well the outer went bang today, but the inner is actually metal i guess with a rubber inner maybe they are 3 ply hoses its still working wasnt as loud as i expected no brown pants either

its still working which is grand sure, but there would be some kind of small leak there somewhere, the outer sheath or bubber didnt grow a spot on its own bat.
no biggie if its still working.

ok so the inner has giving up the ghost now just ordered some male 12mm 1/2" fittings to make a new hose from a old washing machine hose
