What is this thread?

brass tap came with this fitting, expecting it to be 3/4” BSP I ordered a hozelock connector and it’s miles too small.

3/4” BSP tap is too small, 1” BSP Tap too big.

1.105” or 28.08mm minor diameter threads.

Can’t find my Whitworth thread gauges, but it’s somewhere between 1.75 and 2.0mm pitch on my metric ones.

is it just easier to buy another ¾” tap that is ¾ on both ends

Is it a 3/4 on the other end? If so a 3/4 both sides tap will be the best bet as they have std threads, although I'm surprised a hozelock adapter doesn't fit

Haha, @doubleboost just made me one - I had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago.

You can buy a larger Hozelock connector from most places, but that doesn't fit either.

I tried all my thread gauges and it wasn't anything i could identify.

Anyone got a link to a tap that will definitely work?

Its got to be ¾”BSP on the inlet (back) But the outlet can be ½” BSP as long as I can get a hozelock connector on to it.

I hate it, its really why i hate plumbing coming out with loads of different fittings and non fit.

Agree with 8ob. Likely to be 7/8" BSP. The reason they do this is so more 'professional' hose users (like garden nurseries) can screw a Geka connector straight on. No true Percy Thrower would be seen dead using something so common as Hoselock.

bsp would be my guess too ,,, Carb jets in Briggs and Stratton are Model engineers thread ,,, that was a pain to get sorted out too , there are some interesting things out there ,, but the time you need something fixed maybe interesting is just not the right phrase to be us
