yep! that's a lot like my boots (i have 2 buckles)
But still...you will get burnt! cos it still has a gap around the ankle area! The sparks burn through your pants and fall into the boot...

Haha! yeah i've seen those before, we have them at the plant too...nobody wears them;.. i wonder why?

Honestly i prefer having some sparks falling in my pants instead of looking like a complete idiot....That's stupid i know!!!Only the greenhorns wear them!

Luckily I know what you meant, in the UK, pants are an item of underwear not trousers!

Well....they end up in the weirdest places, those sparks...i thought you knew that too!

Anything made from heavy cotton is a good start, denim/twill is good.

A heavyweight 100% cotton boilersuit is probably the next best thing to Nomex or Proban ones.

Gauntlets which have a good length of cuff are best suited, so you can tuck overall sleeves into them for overhead/vertical use, of tuck inside sleeves for horizontal stuff.
In certain situations, leather sleeves are very usefull, for example welding towards your arm.

Boots, i prefer a decent leather lace up, done up properly. replace burned laces to keep them tightly done up.

Head protection, a welding hat or a backwards baseball cap give s abit of comfort and stop your hair burning.

Underneath your overalls, try and avoid tracksuit bottoms, football shirts, the material they re made from will get a massive hole from a tiny spark sometimes. Not sure of the material, i think its nylon/polyester.

fleece jumpers are also bad for setting themselves on fire. ans hot spatter/slag seems to get stuck in the fibers so you cant brush it off when its burning you.

Yip ive had numerous fleeces and jumpers destroyrd by the grinder too!!
