What type of nipple is this?!!

I need to make a blanking plate to do a vacuum test on a 2 stroke crank case but don't know what this bit is called? A nipple of some description I assume but putting that in Google didn't turn up the part I'm looking for!! It's a 11mm or 7/16 hex nut. Possibly a BSP size thread not sure. Ideally if I can get a standard mm size thread as that's what taps I've got!

That's a hose tail.
Jubilee clip a short bit of pipe over it, and shove a bolt in the other end with a clip around that end too.

Don't worry about the bare feet or the nipple(s), just look at that (virginly) clean floor, there's never any work done in/on that workshop floor...

Yep! I got the wrong thing last week, finally just got the right thing through the post today, googled how to do the test, got some rubber to blank off the inlet and outlet but then found out there's no "pulse" line which is where to connect the mityvac to!! There's no hose connecting the carb, it's a plastic block, presumably the pulse line is built in? Anyway yes I'm going to make a blanking plate and tap a nipple in!

Funny you should say that I only finished painting the floor last week! Honest! Used Jotun 91 2 part resin in battleship grey I think! I've only swept it 3 times a day since! Electric opener sectional door finally wired in this weekend just gone. Just need a new triumph and I'm complete!

Look down the rubber boot that joins the carb to the block you might see a tiny hole thats the impulse.


If that's the case you can get sparkplug hole adapters.
My usual is to clamp a piece of rubber between the exhaust and the block, same on the carb side.


if you get stuck let us know, I thoroughly enjoy rebuilding saws.

There's no rubber boot, it's like a bakelite plastic spacer! I assume the small hole and channel is the "pulse" line. I was thinking of putting the plug in, blanking the inlet, and outlet and tapping one with the hose tail. Might look for a sparkplug adapter!
