Who made the BOC Transmig range?

Would that be the Dinse (SP?) connection? I cleaned up the terminal post on that.

When you say transformer connections, where exactly do you mean? The ones into the switch?

Setting 1 on the switch is naff all good for anything.

I still have to clean the main connection to the Eurotorch plate

Edit: I've just noticed in Post #13, the right hand image - the transformer on the left has 2 red sleeved wires connected to something. Mine don't go anywhere. They just hang in thin air

no the actual welding output connections to the transformer it had a crimp on it but had gone bad

the two red connections that you refer to looks like the thermal overload that cuts the welder out when it gets too hot it should be a closed circuit if you test it

Thanks Snooper, I shall check the crimped connectors tomorrow evening.

I'll prolly clean up the smoothing cap terminals too

Do may OCV readings look about right to you?

Do you think I should be able to get full penetration on 2mm hot rolled angle if working correctly?
I've only been using it on panel work up till now, mainly on setting 3, maybe 4 for plug welds

Cleaned up Caps, diodes, terminals tonight.

I checked the voltage on the diode plate and it's roughly the same as at the gun, so I believe the two large chokes are fine.

Diodes are fine, so I'm thinking that only really leaves the transformer.
Struggling to blow through 1.5mm sheet.

Would I be right in thinking the voltage selection switch only supplies to one of the 4 transformer wires at a time (4 pole throw)?
ie if I whip the wires out and test:
Posn 1 contact A
Posn 2 contact B
