yeah its on rubber bushes , propshaftis about 2ft long.. the axle sits on a bushed pivot that is secured to the leafs, the leafs themselves sit as standard with eye at front and shackle at rear....(one day they will have chassis between them too!!!)
That's slightly different to the Riley, the eye at the front on yours gives better lateral axle location. The early Rileys had lever-arm dampers, connected by an anti-roll bar, the later ones had angled telescopic dampers set at an angle.
The lateral axle tube could rotate slightly in the U-bolts to prevent the spring from winding as the axle moved up & down.
Yes, and a bit like the Pug 505 Station Wagon. Tube with hollow ball joint at the back of the g/box and coils with a panhard rod. The load was taken by the g/box/engine mountings. The propshaft universal was in the ball joint. Sounds clunky, but was very tough.

hi guys, sorry for a lack of update on the bedford but a daf 46 jumped the queue, now finished though, and I plan to be back on the bedford within the next fortnight
Good luck on the Van!!
Ha (pun intended my) first crash was when I was 14 in a HA van, it was my dads water works brand new van and i went to get potatoes up the private lane to the farm I used to work at with my mate from school (nuff said) show off mode set in, but the ha didn't handle as well as the thames ( angllia) that the HA replaced, so when it went sideways it flicked n went through the hedge. My old fella was not impressed (he had to take the blame) but was impressed that I knew the thames would go sideways, and he said 'yeah I put it down to the michelin zx's'. ps He's where I get my madness from !
And I loved him for it !
