I like using fleece lined leather gloves in this weather. The local shop sells these (although a bit cheaper)

I'm not recommending them over any other type of glove but here's an overview:
-Quite warm, no extreme/technical insulation but quite good
-fairly waterproof
-no good for fiddly bits but very quick to slip on/off to pick up that runaway M6 nut.
-not that hard wearing. Concrete/rusty/sharp steel kills them.
-bed in to fit the shape of your hands so quite comfy.
Alternatively, I used to go through the orange, rubber fingered builders gloves. Not as nice/warm but cheap enough to be disposable.
