Winter project,possibly??

sounds a bit scary putting lubricant on bare metal. Dont know of the brand but if it is anything like wd40 or contains silicone, i would not have it anywhere near. If you cant epoxy it, i would flick a light coat of etch over it for the winter then rub back pre painting.
