When the bristles at the front of my brush get worn out I cut the end off with the hacksaw to get back to good ones. I've had the same couple of brushes so long I can't remember where they were from.

I use Purdy and they are not cheap but i still have them going strong years later and as they get more use i stop using them for decorating and they end up for the grubby jobs.
