Wire not feeding Portamig 185

I work away, 2weeks on, 3 off and when away I tend to remove the wire to the house (just done this 10 mins ago ) and when home, if I know I'm not going to be able to get up the garage for more than 2 or 3 days I will remove it. I used to spray the reel with anti spatter but I reckon it can cause more harm than good as it can then pick up dust and dirt which will get pulled through the liner.

Nooo! production welders at work tried that (never ending quest to weld faster/finish earlier) and it causes problems with the feed rolls and liners

Postscript

Well up and running, just now need to practice. The old wire still splutters occasionally but liveable with for practice purposes. With much help from Steve, at Weldequip I have also bought the bits to try aluminium welding sometime in the future but also moved to 6mm wire to practice on some thinner steel for my land rover door frames.

Note from pictures still more practice needed (and not just of photography)- I tend to wander off track Also my tack welding was a little rushed and in the wrong place.
Outer lines were at a higher (4) setting than the ones in the middle (3). Must learn how not to blow holes at the end of the run. 1mm steel used.
