Yeah that's the fella. A very obvious type of tool for the job and I did have a look for "pole axe" but Google just got all medieval over it.
I'm still quite keen on the idea of making one, using some massive truck spring just like the Burke bar. The key aspect of the design is how the hardened steel blade attaches to the rectangular box section handle where you might expect a tool like this to bend under the extreme leverage it can generate.
For a lot of my sort of "once every couple of years" gardening operations, I can see just how handy such a tool would be. It is also quite similar to what I refer to as a "comealong". Relatively short spade type affair with a relatively long handle, all steel, great for machinery moves.

The only gadget that will vaguely cut wood mixed up with stones and dirt is a cluster blade for a petrol disc cutter. As they dull off you turn them around, they sort of self sharpen. You can use them as a mini stump grinder.

For those who don't know, any diamond blade will do the same. Turn it around and it will self-sharpen, so long as what you are cutting isn't massively too hard for the particular blade compound.
For almost all diamond segment blades you can ignore the direction of rotation arrow.
