Update:
My favourite reclamation yard had a pile of 16ft 4x2s in stock for a fiver each.

So I'm going to make some trusses, rather than i-beams

But as you get older......an overhead crane, even a single trolley on a beam is great.

On consideration, I've decided to look into adding a beam trolley - if I get back into welding the pit ramps I used to make, it'll save me putting my back out - again (!)

I'll probably cripple myself lifting the beam up, though.

becareful with wood trusses

i dont think yours will be suitable for a wood truss due to the depth that your wanting to use them for

the only alternative if your wanting to use a slimline truss is swap to steel cross members within the 4x2s

it all depends on the depth of truss your wanting to use
note those metal plated trusses are done with a 20 ton press but you can install them with a 12 ton press one at a time

I wanted the big S when they had the Superdry sign but wouldn't sell it me

I did buy a powerflush machine for £10, tried to tell me it was a pressure washer. Worth much more than a pressure washer to me

I don't think it's going to be an issue, tbh.

16ft span.

8in depth of timber (2of 4in depth) over one wall plate.
8in depth of timber, plus a 16in vertical, over other wall plate., then a few intermediate spacers/straps along length.
Gorilla glue and mending plates either side.

Its only going to support a roof, and a moderate snow load - we haven't had more that 18inches of snow here in my lifetime.

500mm on centres

I've certainly made longer spans with less.
