Downside to dpm used in this manner is that it retains moisture against the timber. It depends whether the moisture is coming from above or below. If from above, I'd be tempted to leave the DPM out. If its rising out of the concrete, DPM would be a real benefit.

i was hoping to make some sort of stand off /row of bricks to keep it above where water would collect , but still you have wood meeting concrete sooner or later

Think here. DPM next to timber will help. Normal building construction places the DP two course of brick above ground level - to avoid splash. One brick deep is better than none.

Two things:

Class B engineering bricks on their own will mean no DPC required. Weigh up the cost of commons + DPC against class B alone.

Check UV resistance of the DPC. It is not normally used in a situation where it will see sunlight so might not be made to resist its damaging effects.

If the shed is outside, the timbers will get wet. What causes the degredation is if they stay wet for an extended time. Hence, free air movement to facilitate drying is key to long life.
