woodworking question - scarf joint.

I went with straight beams at 6.3m, and used bolts, connector washers, and gorilla glue.
to get the extra slope, I supported one end on a piece of 3x2, again bolted and glued.

the other picture shows the amount of bow In the roof.

This is a welding forum - why not make roof joists from used pallet racking,doubled up one above the other for extra strength.

Cheaper than timber too.
