wow there's a lot of scams on Facebook market place

Chines eBayers used to be on a winner. China gov' paid their shipping and the return postage was astronomical. So Ok no problem send back.
They've come unstuck with that scam...buyer ends up with goods and cash if they (the seller) are in the wrong.

I got scammed last year buying a Diving dry suit.
Wasn’t a too good to be true deal.
Bloke seemed legit, good comms etc.
If you’re a diver, you trust other divers, you kind of have to, as you are effectively trusting each other with your life incase anything happens.
Turns out I wasn’t alone and he did a load of people over the same suit

Why would trust someone because they have the same hobby as you?

I'd trust people enough on forums if they have a reasonably high post count and the sum is relatively small, but that's about as far as it goes.

As @knighty knows i found a laptop but after a bit of research it looks too much like a scam.

I've used Elf.co.uk a few times now and they always been good. I've no connection to them other than being a satisfied customer. I'm typing this on a laptop I bought from them.

I was looking at a sthil hedge trimmer on Facebook the other day. There was a few pics of it and even a video of it running. It was a 2 hour drive away but he was offering to deliver by courier. I was about to contact him until I noticed an American electrical outlet on the wall in the background of one of the pics.

That guy I flagged on Facebook has a 3/4 milwaukee ugger dugger brand new for 85 quid.
Lots of other stuff....but nothing sold over the weekend.

Still not replied to me since the initial message when I asked if he still had the laptop for sale. Lol
