your opinion on true fusion welding mask

Just out of interest, can these be used with high powered Red / Green lasers?

I have a 200mw red laser that I thought would set the auto tint off but it doesnt react to it but the standard clear tint / shade that the mask gives greatly reduces the brightness of the laser anyway (You cant look at the laser dot without getting that welding Arc Flash effect but if wearing the mask you can look at the dot with no problems at all)

Yea I think some tape aroung the edges will help.. We do this with Airfed masks used for spray painting (Stops overspray getting under the protective plastic onto the main screen)

I don't think they're designed to block laser light - but may well do. The sensors are just looking for a change in illumination level, but probably aren't too sensitive to the narrow bandwidth of laser light.
Personally, if you're using anything above Class 1M, I'd want to be using proper EN207 rated protective glasses.

A friend of mine did his PhD on 'blowing small things up with big lasers' and he had some grizzly stories of people who were careless. That didn't stop him lighting cigarettes off the beam though (smoke's allowed in laser research labs and this was 25 years ago )

Yeap mine has a slight build up of dust, I thought it usual and I can confirm mine arrived with that bit of plastic missing.
I just tighten it up a ill more.
Overall I'm well pleased

Did a search and no it cant be used with lasers.. It can to some extent when used on dark objects but anything else it can reflect into your eye and it wont save you as it doesnt block the red wavelength out

i ordered a one of True Fusion helmets Friday came today, im impressed with it sofar, easy to set the delay , sensitivity etc, and the grind mode is useful just have to remember to turn it back! Night and day compared to my old one

I had the one everyone's got on this thread, it was fine for the money, as expected it only lasted about three months before the protection got weaker. I think I could speak for many when I say I have learnt to spend money on PPE.

Recently tried the SIP Meteor 2300 and liked it, the controls are on the inside and you can adjust the grind function as well as having a mode switch for TIG, guy paid £35 for it from Toolstation and seemed a lot of product for the money.

Yeah i look at those too good value, dont think there was a lot in that and the one i bought, the design swung it for me!

Much lighter than my company supplied 3M and may be of use to those on a budget as it has a working range of shade 4 - 13 in one mask.
