Big tidy yesterday and started to fit the Amazon back together this afternoon to them start bodywork.

Thanks. I do have good heating but just running the chinese diesel heater at the moment. I have padded coveralls and they’re awesome.

Put the door in tonight but need to get it fitting better. Apparently a common issue is the drip rail is pulled down at the B pillar causing a tight gap there with the top of the door. I'll have a look if I can correct that when over on Friday. I have a night out on Thursday so hopefully I make it on Friday. :-)

Bit more playing about today improving the OS drip rail. It's quite a bit better than it was. It flared upwards at the top front bend so made the door fit look even worse. The NS door is a lot tighter fit. Still needs a little tweak and then that will do. Got the OS wing on. Had a Christmas night out last night and hit my finger with a mallet and split the nail. Blood on the door as proof.

what paint defect is caused by Blood on the panels ?

Spent quite a bit of time getting the top rear of the NS wing decent and then moved onto the front panel. It's not too bad and will do for now. Didn’t get final pics unfortunately.

Thanks. Volvo 97 is the colour code. Same as engine bay. I’m think of painting the shell and panels separately with three coats of 2k and then assemble and two or three coats of 2k with 20% clear coat added.

Started bodywork on the boot lid. Will flat the underneath next and then give it all a coat of epoxy and then the top a couple of coats. Looks pretty flat so far.

I gave the boot lid a coat of epoxy and then two good coats of high build. More sanding next.

I bought my mate’s 131 and I’m down in England picking up the parts and will transport her back up to Scotland in Feb. My mate has owned the car for over 20 years. She’s a genuine original rust free car with new front panel, wings and a load of other spares as well. Suspension and engine have been rebuilt, bolts etc have been zinc plated. The car is apart and needs painting and reassembling. I will epoxy prime the whole car, stone chip the bottom and then topcoat the whole car except the A surfaces. The A surfaces will get painted once the car is back together.

Will try and do a build thread, will see how I go. Video of the car as it is currently;

I hope to make a start in late Feb / early March.
