On the production line the complete assembled dash is swung into the car and secured with 4 big bolts in less than 30 seconds, but then as @Rannsachair has found out it takes hours to do any repairs to it later.

They are not on a 2015 VW Crafter - I just done the heater box on one - reckon it took me - 10hrs in total - awful job.

I worked at JLR so was assuming other big manufacturers were similar to achieve takt time

My dad is not much of a smiler, though absolutely loves the car, just called in for a coffee.

Service today between the showers.

old air filter looked like new and old filter looked not too old, so I suspect the service 2 years ago (under 2000 miles ago) did happen. Replaced the Crossland filter with genuine Jaguar, kit of all filters was around £50.

with undertray off, all was accessible.

Pollen filter was missing! New one now fitted.

Going to Brigeton bus museum in it tomorrow for a bike show and autojumble.

aye, it stays with him, he usually visits me once a week. Though he suggested I take it a decent run, trip tomorrow is 180 mile round trip. Am taking my friend with a Velocette collection and picking up my wife's uncle who has a collection of bikes too, mainly modern plus an old R100RS BMW.

Wee job this morning. My rear blind had stopped working, found I could get trim levers under the front edge about 5" from each end and pulled it up by hand an inch or so then pressed the button while pulling. That got it working again. Some silicon lube spray applied to the runners. Sagging headlining still to be tackled.

Had called in to see a friend whose house is in the background to hand in some bar stock to finish a stationary petrol engine he is building. He has bought a Warco WM16 and just fitted its 3rd Control board for the DC motor and and about to swap out the motor. It looks quite a nice machine, at least Warco have been good at sending parts FOC.
