He’s talking about outputting multiple flat views which is fine.

The main driver for using Fusion is it’s CAM capabilities. I see no good reason to output from Fusion and then do CAM in another program. If Fusion doesn’t have a Post processor that supports your CNC that would be a surprise as it has loads including community written processors.

Aren’t you using UCCNC? If you are then no problems, Fusion has excellent UCCNC support, my mill runs UCCNC and all my CAD and CAM is done with `fusion.

From a 3D model you can create a 3-view drawing in F360 (that's a 2D drawing) you should then be able to export that as a DXF (must admit I haven't done it recently).

Yes the CNC has UCCNC controller on it.

Need to do more reading. It's the lack of knowledge of the terminology I think.

3 view drawing being a 2D drawing seems pretty alien to my brain. Lol

I really would not know what to do with multiple flat views.

In am currently 4 chapters into a udemy Fusion 360 for beginners....I doubt it will mention CAM for a good while though...lol

If you’ve got it in Fusion there is no need to export it as anything.

Just modify the bodies as you need and then create a cam setup and start adding tool paths.
Once done post with the correct post processor and then open in UCCNC and get cutting.

What you are doing, using an actual part you require, to learn Fusion is the best method.
But you have a mountain to climb, it took me hundreds of hours to learn the end to end work flow in Fusion and that was after already knowing how to do the process with other software solutions.

It is good to take baby steps at the beginning. Start small and simple. In some respects, you blade holder is week 2 or 3 of the course. You need to do week one and two first.

Make a random offcut of plywood into a cylinder of known diameter. Then make that cylinder into a washer. Then make a top hat (flanged) washer. Then put a hole circle into the flange.

That way, you see the connection from starting with a blank screen in Fusion, what you do to make the 3D model, what you do to the 3D model in the CAM module, how it looks in the simulator and then how the machine moves.
