6010 rods

I would think you have seen these on ebay, but just in case there are some Nikko Steel C-10 rods in 2.5mm 2 Kg Vac Pac for £22 including delivery on Ebay, the label says they are for root runs on pipe work. Item number 221937463562. Some 4mm at £15.50 also on the bay, would not know what they are like to use. But one has a link to a data sheet for reference if it helps. Does not say what voltage is recommended just DCEP.

It also says Loyds Register garde 1 so perhaps that is why they are Vac packed

Grade 1 is the lowest..........Grade 3 is the highest

CVN test temp
1 = +20 oC
2 = 0 oC
3 = -20 oC

1Y,2Y and 3Y are same but higher tensile strength

Hya guys altho I started a thread on the v up tonight I'd thought id just wack a comment in hear I managed to use the rods Hugh sent to me with my thermal arc I had to admit even tho my gap was stupidly wide I managed to keep them alight shame I used cheap rods to cap did not have anything in the oven

How wide was your gap? What size rod did u use?

It was a bout 4 mm in places

Bet that got out of hand pretty quick with those 3/32 rods

I'd go tight 3/32 gap, 3/32 land, but then I'm still learning so that might not work so well in real life.

Well the photos are on esab 6011 nu something it was harder had to whip more but in real life situations fitments gaps are never perfect
