I had to use 6010 earlier in the year for 2 inch schd20.the only way I could not make a dogs dinner out of it was to stove the root.i would not like to attempt anything smaller

We never recommended them for anything smaller that 6" pipe
as for fillets........I suppose its possible its just that the penetration is too deep really
We used to market one for deep penetration fillets where they wanted as little visible weld as possible..........things like wheels.........basically it was the same as the 6010 but with a thicker coating so it didnt freeze as quickly

Why would you even consider running the root uphill on that wall thickness with 6010? That joint was crying out to be stoved.

Stoving wasn't really allowed on that job.a nu5 on the negative was grand uphill but a ****ty plant meant the 6010 had to be run hot to run at all.

6011 aren't really a stoving rod,as far as I know.nu5 are very popular mostly because of the price.cel70 are around 5 times the price per kilo.that particular job was usually nu5 but supplier sent 6010 cos they were out of stock.just made to work

Was talking to a fella yesterday about different cel plants,what were good and not etc,said he had trouble with a few that were dropping the arc on him,with 2.5 cel70.turns out he is stoving 1 inch shd40 butts with them!
Interestingly,the older ewm picocel models will maintain an arc down low a lot better than the newer version.

Ah, I was thinking of general jobs where 6011 can be used, not pipelines.
I wouldn't think anybody would use 6011 on pipelines, I'd have thought they would go for 6010 instead?

Ive never seen 6011 used on general jobs either........once upon a time I had all the facts and figures on cellulosic rod sales in the UK and 6011 were virtually non existent.....I think they had one customer

They are very,very common in uk and ireland.they mightnt be as clean as a good 6010 but they are 1/4 - 1/5 the price,nu5
