Interesting about cortenYes...........sounds like a plan
Off the top of my head S500 is the common steel grade they are used for
They may also be used for Corten steel......probably not the best but better than 7018
6011 aren't really a stoving rod,as far as I know.nu5 are very popular mostly because of the price.cel70 are around 5 times the price per kilo.that particular job was usually nu5 but supplier sent 6010 cos they were out of stock.just made to workgotcha... didn't fancy stoving it with the nu5 then?
Stoving is welding pipe downhill with cellulose rodsWhat's the meaning of stoving?
Was talking to a fella yesterday about different cel plants, what were good and not etc, said he had trouble with a few that were dropping the arc on him, with 2.5 cel70.turns out he is stoving 1 inch shd40 butts with them!Must b lost count 14 hours yday wmyjumper. I was welding inch and half socket weld yday stick soft rod i was having nightmares last night about attempting to use cells for this work.
not on pipelines..........ive never seen AC on a pipleine which is where 6010 / 8010s are usedWhere the only welder available is AC...
Such as oil cooled welders, there are plenty still in use!
