Yes that's the good stuff! £15 is a good price too I have paid more locally in the past but its worth it as its the best type of brake line I wouldn't use copper.

Been using that tubing over 15 years , it costs nearly 35€ in my local motor factors, bends 100% by hand.
Almost double the max working pressure as the 100% copper from the same co.

Like a dog peeing in the snow. And one line had 3x jointers along its length. Really bemusing to find after the car passed MOT here and I drove it for months.

Whole lot in bin and starting again with all new hardware from MB too.

You can have as many jointers as you like, it's any leaks that are the problem/fail.

Never had any issue with copper - only two lines I've had fatgiue and break were cunifer on second hand cars where it hadn't been strapped down and vibrated with every suspension movement - but copper, and steel, would have done the same.

I did somehow manage to buy a roll of cunifer once that simply slipped out of my Sykes Pickavant flarer - would not grip it. Was slightly undersize I assume. All previous, and subsequent rolls of cunifer and copper have been fine.

Noted with thanks. That is a technical view and I don't disagree.

Personally I have no issue with "MOT jointers" where used appropriately. Such as on my w220 which had rusted lines above the rear subframe but as new lines behind full underbody belly pans. So I spliced new lines above the axle and onto the original pristine steel line.

What these guys did in my photo above was 3X joints on one single line. If I was going to add more than one joint I'd be replacing the complete line simple as. They changed just a little section at a time and kept adding without any rational thought applied.

The main difference being someone who gives a sh## VS someone paid to repair a problem I guess.

But if I were a garage and I was asked to repair it I would not be leaving other jointers in a line either. As last competent person I would therefore be liable if something were to happen - just sayin.

You ask the customer what they want and follow their instructions, there are many criteria that affect/control repair costs.

Although it legal it looks unsightly 3 in 1 pipe, yet I also agree with you, but it was also a reason I took the career change to many folks wanting a cheap job done. One of the favorite saying when pricing blasting jobs was “ I only want a cheep job done” father always kept an old wire brush hanging near the door, and gave it to them lol. I always told them I dont do cheap I do proper.

I think any decent mechanic should rightly refuse to take on inferior repairs and tell the customer what needs done to get it right. Especially on a critical item such as brakes.

In my case though I sure hope that was a PO and not a Mechanic! Anyway it'll be replaced and done proper now so all good

You get it in writing with the customers signature stating, the approved work to be carried out.

Or you simply refuse to do the work, which is not good for your pocket or possibly reputation business wise, for repeat customers...
