I've been lurking here for a while... great build thread!!
Now, I might have missed this but where are you using the epoxy primer and are you using mastic too?
I am at the stage now where I will start sealing off bits once the metal is cleaned up. I am thinking about epoxy mastic on the underside and engine bay.
What products have you used as I am clueless on that front. Thanks a lot.

@conor1n , Thanks....this is my first foray into major bodywork so I'm just finding out as I go along.
Anyway, I intend using epoxy 2k primer on everything except the underside. I've got some epoxy mastic (em121) for that, and I'll probably use it for the suspension components too... The epoxy 2k primer is some Italian brand that I got locally..... It's a high solids primer and seems to sand ok.

Thought I'd do a test fit of the alloys/flares to see where I'm at...
.... If the arches were solid, they'd still need to be rolled, maybe pulled too...
... This is the closest it's been to looking like an actual car, certainly since I've had it. Happy with my rims though...
Arch extensions. If anyone has any pointers as regards wheel spacers, I'm gonna need some. Rims are 16x9J et 0/ ...... With the arch extensions, there's a 40-45mm overhang. So I think I need 45mm 4x114.3 spacers?

Hey @Myles1970 what some of the lads have done done when trying to figure out what spacers to get just 3D print the spacers as testers before spending money on them.
I can print a spacer(s) for you to test out maybe 2x 20mm, 1x10mm 1x5mm that should give you a bit to work with.
In terms of testing out your suspension to work with the arch I donno if you have coilovers or just springs. But when I was setting up my suspension to make sure you have the right height for your suspension travel and I assume it'll work for figuring bout what change you need for the arches.
Take the spring out and then jack up the wheel until you reach the bump stop on the shock or your arch and that's the decider I guess it won't tell you how much you need to roll the arch but it'll help you see when enough is enough. Alternatively you could try some camber either.

@Cosantoir , that'd be great if you could. Obviously I can revolut you whatever you need to cover any expenses/postage etc.
It's just oem style short stroke shocks/springs and a solid axle; so no camber adjustment there. I have coilovers with adjustable tops up front.... But as I'm going with the flares on the rears, I'd probably be as well with the flares up front too. Just need to fill them out

Those rails are back on.
... it's not pretty under there yet.
May as well tackle the dash bar, I don't think it was ever painted or coated from the factory, and seeing it so rusty was bugging me so ...
Wire-wheel and phosphoric on... Will do again if required and have it ready for the next time I'm epoxy priming.
Tonight, I carried on with the floor, welding up any cracks or holes as I found them, and doing the spots that I knew about but had been putting off. I was gonna procrastinate some more but decided to leave that until tomorrow.
Also removed most of the sound deadening, using a heat gun and paint scraper. Might try some acetone to remove the residue....
There's still a few bits that I've to do:
Captive nut for the passenger seat mount...
... and captive nut for the bonnet hinge...

Not much to report really, other than this being by far the least enjoyable part....
....that's after about three sessions of 3 to 4 hours at a time. I've still got the axle and boot floor areas to do
.... anyway, I'm sticking at it as I'd like to get it out of the way before doing a deep clean of the entire garage

Wiped down with thinners, and attacked with a knotted wire-wheel on a grinder. I used both the "star" type and the cup type, both have their merits. This took off the top-coat, the rubbery coating, the white primer underneath that, the black (original?) topcoat under that, and some of the original green factory primer under that. I'll finish stripping with a strip and clean poly disk before getting it ready for refinishing.

Now this has seen a fair bit of work already; for one it appears to be off a donor car (I have the rest of a boot floor), but it also has a rectangular patch and what appears to be two seams welded:
It's fairly scaley though, especially on the inside where water would have sat. Someone has attempted to fill a few pinholes with mig, but I'm thinking about making two or maybe three c-shaped repair sections and replacing all the pitted stuff with fresh metal..... who's with me?

It's amazing how similar to my alfa that spare wheel well is, right down to the bung holes.
I made a few new sections for mine and welded them in.
They were the trickiest patches on the whole car but well worth doing.
Just go for it, you will learn lots as well.
