My new whitworth bolts arrived for the bull gear . Now I can install it.

Bull gear now in place. A ass of a job getting it in

Today. Starting installation of the new pre war whitworth bolts and half nuts

Managed to spend a bit of time doing some bits on the shaper. Pre war whitworth half nuts installed. Some of the original dog point grub screws are slightly worn. So I have had a large batch made to original spec. They should be here in a week or so.

Yesterday my bsw full size bolts order turned up...Happy days.

Just preparing the shaper fork for top coat..been a bit slow on the shaper recently as I am waiting for a delivery. Some of the original 5/16 dog point grub screws had worn slightly and very difficult to find a replica. So I had historic threads machine a big batch of them to match the originals..hopefully they will be here next week..I need to get the shaper done so I can start on the invicta 6M 24 inch shaper..

That's the last of the shaper gear shafts done...pulley will need machining to suit new motor shaft...last part is get a new two speed gear cut....

Today I received my order from historic threads (DWS ENGINEERING) new dog point grub screws for the alba shaper. Machine screws and half nuts for the mellor lathe. And some other bolts ect. All made to the original bsw size and dimensions.

i have the pencil drawn Alba A1 on the lathes site,
if i'd seen this in May, i would have mentioned i have a gear wheel you repaired, along with a few bits and pieces, from restoring the one i have,
just up and working, nothing like yours,
well done,

Hi Lema5,
Do you have the gear for changing speeds?
The one in mine is chewed up and I filed the teeth to get it working but it's now a bit laboured in the high gear.

I probably need to take it apart again and see what's wrong.

Also, do you have the Bakelite knob for changing speed, mine is broken and it would be nice to have the correct knob.

Obviously, if you have them and Spencer wants them, I'll stand aside.
